Things you need:
- Canvas
- Paint
- Glitter Scrapbook Paper
- Painters Tape
- Paint Brushes
- Scissors
- State Outline
- Hot Glue Gun
Steps:
- The first thing I did was search for an outline of Kentucky on Google. There wasn't a ton of size options, but try to find the largest one you can and cut it out!
- Next, paint your canvas your desired color. I did maroon because I knew it would match most rooms of my moms house. If you want to leave your canvas a solid color you do not need the painters tape.
- I decided to diagonally stripe my canvas with cream lines. Make sure your first color is completely dry before your use the tape. Put down your tape and make sure they are spread equally so your lines looks crisp and proportioned right. Then paints your second desired color.
- After the paint is dry, carefully pull off the tape and you should be left with a perfectly stripped canvas.
- Next, trace your state backwards on the back of the glitter paper. It must be traced backwards or it will not be the right direction when you flip it over to the glitter side.
- Cut out your state.
- After you've cut out your state, use a good amount of hot glue and stick it on the canvas.
Here is the final product of my DIY Kentucky State Art! Enjoy guys!
