Disney World.

Here starts a very long blog post filled with pictures of my amazing and magical experience in Walt Disney World!

I'm 22 years old and until this past August I had never been to Disney World. I figured I was a little old to experience all the magic and excitement but I learned you can never be too old to experience Disney World. Within this post you'll get to see some of my favorite things and pictures of every princess I met because obviously I was on cloud 9 and I love all the princesses!

Day 1: Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom was truly filled with magic. When I entered the park I saw Marie from Aristocrats! Everyone knows I am obsessed with animals specifically cats so I thought she was adorable. Unfortunately the weather didn't allow me to get a picture, but that is always a memory I will keep stored in my mind. It's like disney knew a crazy cat lady was about to walk through the gate so bam they put Marie at the entrance of Main Street.

Next, I saw Cinderella's Castle for the first time. While I am partial to Belle, It was beautiful. The artwork on the inside of the castle was amazing too. Thanks Annie Franklin, my most favorite princess for showing me that!

We then did some of the rides like the Haunted Mansion which was so cool. My favorite part was when you got in front of the mirror and ghost figures were bouncing all over your little "doom" buggy. It was a nice touch, but still very kid friendly. Another adventure while at Magic Kingdom was Ariel's Grotto. I loved it! It was a similar style ride to the haunted mansion, but all the figurines were simply amazing. It was one of my favorite things I did on day 1.

I obviously participated in every Belle themed activity I could while at Disney. Next, we went to Story Time with Belle and it was wonderful. She liked my tank and even asked me to take a picture with her after it was over. Unfortunately I do not have a picture :( but she was still beautiful. She was the first princess I had met and I was a little bit nervous.

We then ventured to Princess Fairytale Hall and I was able to see one of my favorite friends and princesses Annie! We met Cinderella and Rapunzel and they were so kind!

We finished up our evening at Tony's Town Square Restaurant and ate some amazing food. One of the dishes even had Lady and the Tramp chocolate artwork on the plate. We ended the evening watching the electrical parade!

Day 2: Epcot

By day 2 my feet were killing me, it was soo humid and hot, but I was still feeling the Disney magic. We didn't walk around all of Epcot, but we did most of the cool rides in the beginning and we were able to have a magical dining experience which featured almost all of the Disney Princesses. I met Belle again! Ariel, Aurora, Snow White and Cinderella again!

Day 3: Animal Kingdom

This was one of my favorite places because I love animals. I basically fed the ducks all of my lunch even though the signs said not to do that. They were adorable and I couldn't help myself. Here at animal kingdom I rode the Yeti roller coaster with my dad in Asia, it was awesome. I met Pocahontas which was super cool, we did the Kilimanjaro Safari and I had my first ever Mickey Pretzel! One of the highlights from this day was The Festival of the Lion King it was AMAZING!

Day 4: Hollywood Studio's

This was the last day of our Disney adventure and it was fabulous no doubt. Today I saw one of my favorite little ADPi babies, Erynn! The Tower of Terror was awesome and so was the Rock N' Roll Roller Coaster! The best part was the Beauty and the Beast live on stage. Erynn and I did this together!

I couldn't have asked for a better first time Disney experience except maybe a little bit cooler temperatures. I was able to see some of my very dear friends and meet almost all the princesses and see some of the coolest attractions ever. I definitely plan on going again! Hopefully soon! Disney world was very good to me and if you haven't been, book your trip now!

Summer Recap

This summer has been filled with many boring and exciting moments. Being from a tiny town and coming home for the summer causes the boredom to set in and the desire to go somewhere new for an adventure. With all the time spent on my summer class and this horrible hot and cold weather, I ventured out to a few different places to create some summer memories that were not so boring.

Baby Tigers, need I say more? If you haven't heard about it, google it now and go as soon as you can! In Charlestown, IN is a wonderful place called Wild Life in Need. While here you get to play with baby tiger cubs and more exotic animals friends. Why in the world would you not want to experience this?! Tickets can be purchased through their Facebook page at the link below and here are some pictures from my time with these adorable creatures.
Perfect way to spend the 4th of July!
Isn't Ollie the Otter, the Cutest?
She was precious!
Look at those eyes!
A 150lb, 9 month tiger! A little scary, but beautiful!

Another adventure, was judging the Clark County Baby Shows and Pre-Teen Pageant! Being a pageant contestant for most of life made me think judging would be a piece of cake, but you really can never be prepared enough! The little girls and boys from the baby shows were adorable making it so hard to pick a winner! The Pre-Teen competition was tough too since these little cuties had to complete an interview as well. Ultimately, we submitted our scores not knowing who in the world would win, but I think you will have to agree that the Miss Pre-Teen Clark County Fair is ADORABLE! Thanks so much for the pageant board for asking me to judge!
Heath, Monica and I with the new Miss Pre-Teen Clark County!
The last and most exciting thing that I do every summer is watch the Miss Kentucky's Outstanding Teen and Miss Kentucky Pageant. I competed in this wonderful system for 2 years (miss) and several years in the teen and who know's I might decide to try again! :) Each and every year including the year's I competed I am blown away by the intelligence, poise and talent of every contestant. This years MKOT winner is Alex Francke. She looked breathtaking in her blue evening gown as she graced the stage and I know she will be great at MAOT! The Miss Kentucky Pageant was so very exciting! This year Ramsey Carpenter won, her last year of eligibility and she is going to be fantastic at Miss America! She plays the fiddle, is beautiful and has such a wonderful platform concerning multiple sclerosis because she lives with it every single day. She will be the only fiddle player at Miss America and with a platform as personal as hers, who knows she might bring home the Miss America crown! I was also able to see some of my dearest friends from the Miss Kentucky system and it was wonderful catching up and seeing old faces! Congrats to all the girls who competed this year, everyone did an outstanding job!

After reading this, my summer in no way sounds boring at all. Another exciting trip to come this August as I travel to Disney World for the first time! Thanks for reading and I hope you all are having the best summer ever!

Easter Sunday

Easter has always been one of my favorite holidays. Why you ask? Well, I was actually born on Easter! Though my birthday has never fell on Easter since [it was very close this year] it will always be a very special day to me!

Easter is more than just about Cadbury eggs, but who am I kidding they're one of my favorite things ever! It's more a time to reflect and know that Jesus died for us and for our sins. I may not go to church every Sunday like I should, but faith is something that should be important to everyone. No matter what you believe in, it's just important to believe in something.

Here's some pictures of my Easter Sunday! Outfit details will be posted below!

Feelin' 22.

Yes, I have been waiting a whole year to be able to use the Taylor Swift song, 22 in some way to reference my 22nd Birthday. This past Easter Weekend, I turned 22 on April 19th and believe it or not in 1992 I was actually born on Easter. This post is less about my birthday and more about a reflection on my friends, school and life over the past year.

My 21st birthday was awesome. I had a shotbook party which may or may not be foreign to most of you and it was one of the most memorable and fun nights of my college experience. Things have really changed since then though. I am a senior in college and I am looking forward to graduating this coming December, life has had it's ups and downs and really so has my social life.

I am too busy, too driven and really sometimes too lazy to go out to a bar and stay out all night. The older I get [I feel ancient] the more clear everything about my previous years is becoming. I should have really emerged myself in so many other things when I started college. I also should have branched way out when finding friends instead of just depending on girls in my sorority. I also should have realized that my generation specifically only cares about their selves and will never truly care about me or anything I care about.

Throughout my life, true friendship has never been something I have experienced. Currently, I have few great friends that I love dearly, some that are not what I thought they were and others that fall somewhere in between. I realize that not everyone "gets me" as a person. My hair is sometimes too big, I sometimes overdress for the simplest of occasions and I have an unhealthy love for my cat Bentley, but that's how I've always been and I will always be. If you don't get that, then I really no longer care.

Manipulation is not a game I play, maybe I should. It seems to work for some people. I think anything you really want in life should come from hard work not turning tables to make someone seem like the bad guy to get them to do what you want. I have done a lot for others even when I didn't want to, but I have never gotten any help in return. People used to give back what they were given, but the world just doesn't work like that anymore.

Even though my mother doesn't always think I listen to her, I do. Everything she says does have merit even though I might hate hearing her say it at the time. No, I don't always like going home when she tells me to [when I do go out that is], I don't like cleaning my house, I don't even like hearing the somewhat "constructive criticism" that she says. But as much as I hate to admit it, she is really always right, about everything. And Mom, I don't hate you haha. I love you and I know you know that.

I have already moved on mentally from Kentucky, but I am ready to physically move on as well. I can't wait for new places, new experiences and new people that will finally understand me, I hope. I still have time left here and I will cherish every moment with my few wonderful friends, you know who you are.

People change a lot and throughout high school and college I have had to change faster than everyone else. Growing up this quickly is not something I wanted to do, but it wasn't really an option for me. For all of you that wished me a Happy Birthday I greatly apreciate it!

Now here's a look at my birthday and outfit!

DIY Kentucky State Art

School may have been starting back mid-January, but instead of studying I was crafting. I knew my mom had been wanting a painted canvas with the state of Kentucky on it and I was finally going to make it. Here's my steps and picture of the finished product so you can make your own!

Things you need:

  • Canvas
  • Paint
  • Glitter Scrapbook Paper
  • Painters Tape
  • Paint Brushes
  • Scissors
  • State Outline
  • Hot Glue Gun
Steps:
  1. The first thing I did was search for an outline of Kentucky on Google. There wasn't a ton of size options, but try to find the largest one you can and cut it out!
  2. Next, paint your canvas your desired color. I did maroon because I knew it would match most rooms of my moms house. If you want to leave your canvas a solid color you do not need the painters tape.
  3. I decided to diagonally stripe my canvas with cream lines. Make sure your first color is completely dry before your use the tape. Put down your tape and make sure they are spread equally so your lines looks crisp and proportioned right. Then paints your second desired color.
  4. After the paint is dry, carefully pull off the tape and you should be left with a perfectly stripped canvas.
  5. Next, trace your state backwards on the back of the glitter paper. It must be traced backwards or it will not be the right direction when you flip it over to the glitter side.
  6. Cut out your state.
  7. After you've cut out your state, use a good amount of hot glue and stick it on the canvas.
Here is the final product of my DIY Kentucky State Art! Enjoy guys!

Buffalo Chicken Dip

This is a dish you can never go wrong with. It's easy, cheap and just about everyone loves it. Whether you are gearing up for a coming up Superbowl Party or you need to make a dish for a potluck, this can be your new go-to recipe. This is the recipe I use to make my buffalo chicken dip and the guys at work say its the best they've ever had. Enjoy!

Ingredients:
  • 1 pkg. [8 oz.] cream cheese, softened [any brand works]
  • 1/2 cup Frank's RedHot Buffalo Wing Sauce
  • 1/2 Ranch Dressing, [I use Hidden Valley]
  • 2 [10 oz.] cans of chicken [any brand works]
  • 1/2 cup of Mozzarella Cheese
Directions:
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Combine all ingredients in a shallow baking dish.
  • Bake for 20 minutes.
Tips:
  • I typically add a little more Frank's RedHot Sauce than the recipe calls for just taste yours and see if you want it a little spicier!
  • I serve this dish with tortilla chips, but it can also be served with crackers or veggies.
